This pre-K class prepares each child for a successful transition to kindergarten through formal academic instruction and indoor/outdoor free play allowing each preschooler to continue to pursue and develop his/her own interests in a loving Christian environment.
Reading groups bring the focus to letters and their sounds through word segmentation, clapping out syllables, blending sounds together and more. Reading comprehension skills are developed through story discussion and predictions, as well as story-to-story connections.
Math lessons focus on counting to 100, number concepts (demonstrating the quantity each number represents), beginning addition and subtraction, and more.
We practice artistic expression through dance, listening to music, playing rhythm instruments, singing and discussing and creating art.
- This class accommodates both pre-K and daycare programs. Most of the structured teaching time takes place in the morning. You may choose:
- Morning daycare, including pre-K sessions – anytime between 6:30AM-noon
- Afternoon daycare: 12-6PM
- Full-day daycare, including pre-K sessions – 6:30AM-6PM

What a wonderful time our family had last night at the "Christmas Program." We would be remiss if we did not commend you and your staff for all the time and effort put into showing all of the families what shining stars our children are! My family and I have been blessed by the ministry of the Sonshine Center and the Preschool teachers. The teachers have such a dedication to their classrooms and to seeing that each child performs to the best of his or her ability. We have had such wonderful crafts completed in the classrooms that we will keep forever. Both of my boys were so grieved to leave the teachers when they were too old to stay. The preschool staff are treasures and we are grateful that they were there to bless our children!
